HUGH HAYES
CO-PRODUCER
For over 25 years, Mr. Hayes worked extensively on and off Broadway, reflecting his diverse array of skills, talents, and passions, including public relations, company management, marketing, audience development, and producing. Results include a Tony Award as producer of the smash hit revival of PIPPIN.
Hayes received a second Tony Award nomination for the wildly eccentric and haunting Kander and Ebb musical The Visit, starring Chita Rivera and Roger Rees.
Other credits include one of the top-10 grossing comedies in Broadway history It’s Only a Play, starring Nathan Lane, Meghan Mullally, F. Murray Abraham, Rupert Graves, and Stockard Channing, Naked Boys Singing (Top-10 longest running off- Broadway shows in history), acclaimed musical Yank (Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk award nominations for Best Musical), Victor/ Victoria, starring Julie Andrews, Liza Minnelli, and Raquel Welch).
Hayes’ first Broadway production, On the Waterfront, was a legendary disaster which ran but one week. For over 20 years, On the Waterfront, Ron Eldard and Penelope Ann Miller held the dubious distinction as Broadway’s biggest and most-costly, non-musical flop in history. So at 29 years of age, what could easily
have been his own personal “last match,” Hayes wore instead a badge of pride and honor.
Never looking back, wasting time, harboring regrets, nor quitting, failure is not WHERE you end, it's WHEN you begin. Believing how the story of your life is lived, how it ends, and how it’s told is a right belonging only to YOU. Which is precisely what The Last Match: A Pro Wrestling Rock Experience is all about, isn’t it?
